The prizes (runes) were generally valuable, so I tried to solve one every hour or so. I don't think about playing it anymore, I'm more focused on solving an even older puzzle:the proffessor cube. a 5x5x5 rubik's cube which is just a headache waiting to happen. So I would think, like the rubiks cube, sudoku is going to pop up and dissapear from time to time but still be one of those great puzzles that everyone struggles to solve.
