How&#039;d this project go?

I would have suggested that the BI solution that bests fits you would have to be selected based on the line of business solution(s) that your business uses and the RDMS platforms that these LOB apps are run on.  Perhaps also, the industry you are in would be highly relevant as some BI solutions may be taylored for particular industries.

Of course, budget narrows it down for you.

It sounds from your interest in Pentaho (I read a little about it) that maybe you are used to OpenSource solutions (which is great) and perhaps your RDBMS is MySQL and maybe also that you work with Java.  All those things would make this a good choice, IMHO.

Is Pentaho RDBMS platform agnostic?
Did you implement it?
If so, how have you liket it?</description>
